This blog is not about any technical stuffs on CDAC which you can easily get from CDAC official website.What i am gonna cover here are the question which i had before joining CDAC or much before writing C-CAT.So this blog is basically for those who are looking forward to join CDAC or who didn't get a job after their engineering.
Last year in '15 i completed my engineering from Electronics n Instrumentation.And i had a big question in my life "What next".I am not in a mindset of Gate,IES,Bank PO,CAT preparation.One big reason is i am from General category.Then i heard of CDAC.
I had no idea which college is good,which branch to take,what's the exam pattern,at what rank i will get a good college.I checked Cdac website i got to know about the syllabus,course offered.I am from Instrumentation n i decided to join SCADA or VLSI course which are offered in pune and Bangalore only.
So first thing in my mind was how to prepare for the CCAT exam which is conducted at all india level.So guys if you have already done some research you are very aware of the syllabus and if not then check the website.So people if you are from computer science background no worries you can go through your concepts but if you are from Electronics and you are not aware of C related stuffs.Join a nearby CDAC training institute if you are looking for a good rank and college.Keep in mind while placement C-CAT rank doesn't matter.Its just helps you in getting college thats all.Don't think beyond that.
Most of the questions are from C like error finding , what's the output like that .Few questions are from networking and operating system.You won't find any cdac papers on internet.I will suggest Yashwant Kanekar book for C Basics .
English and aptitude is easy only, whatever book you preferred in college will be fine.
So after one month of classes i write C-CAT and got 140 rank all over india in A+B+C section.My choice was quite filtered SCADA or VLSI.So i got SCADA in CDAC,KP Bangalore.
I joined the CDAC on 18th Aug.1st day all documents verification will be going on so don't forget to take all your documents including your provisional degree.If you didn't get your P.D. don't panic they will give few months to get your provisional till then they won't confirm your registration so its better if you take it along with you.
You will get the welcome coffee very first day.You need not to bring any books they will only provide all reading materials for each one of you.They have library as well.So only thing you need to do is STUDY.
From now on wards your life is going to be hell (9 to 6) for next 6 months.You will come at 9 and leave at 9 if you really wants to learn.And when you go out after 9pm you will get a satisfaction that you learnt something today.Soon you start enjoying this life because this is the struggle you gonna do to achieve something in life.And that day won't be so far when you will see tears of happiness in your parents eyes when you get the job.
After 4 months your project got started.Give your best in the projects.And after that your placement.
After attending CDAC placements you never gonna feel that you didn't get a chance in MNC's. So now its time to prove yourselves,keep practising aptitude all the 6 months because this is the first step for all the companies.Make yourself C n Date structures expert because most of the MNCs ask data structures programming(linked list).You would be taught everything but if you won't practise you are nothing.
You will get too many chances in various companies.Initially companies will come with criteria of 7.0 CGPA , 10th ,12 th above 65 or 70.
Let me tell you one thing CDAC targets DAC course student to be placed first n after that DESD,then others like DMC,DSSD,DASS.
And non CS background people if you are joining CDAC with the hope of getting a job in core industry please don't come.
So make sure if you have less percentage CDAC is not responsible for your placement.Because most of the student don't get a job or a chance to apply for the interviews because of less percentage.
I was rejected by 3 to 4 companies before Nokia came for recruitment.And finally all my struggle come to an end on 8th Feb '15 when Nokia offered 6lacs to me.
